And since no one reads this board but you and I, Kluv, I can comfortably state:
Thank god Applebee's went with a Wanda Sykes-voiced talking apple as their new spokesperson. There's much more creativity involved in taking a word in the client's name, putting that word-as-object on-screen, and paying some B-celeb big bucks to do the voiceovers. No way did they come up with this idea one lazy Friday afternoon at Starbucks after the client announced that they, without consulting the agency, signed said celeb to a 2 year contract for so much money as to leave very little left for creative execution or talent payments. Why didn't they think of that in the first place? It's BRILLIANT! God, so fucking good. |

I loves me some talking apples. I know that much.
Also, as excited as I am about "Last Train To Clarksville" on Rock Band today, seems that there was a premature leak about the next few weeks content -- which also kicks ass. Two of my favorite Oasis karaoke songs? Hell, Diggity, wasn't "Don't Look Back" the song I sang with you as I wore a lampshade on my head at Gar and Lizzies? (Or was it "Champagne Supernova"?) AND a classic Pumpkins song (Which has awesome guitar, drums AND bass)?! A THIRD Rush song? Bad-ass.

Hey! Look! Another person! It only took four days! I actually thought we'd make it through the work week...
Go figure. As a treat, here's a video from my buddy Paulie -- he made it for the Wonderful Video Project being done by "Said the Gramaphone". I love the fact that it captures the wonder of an NYC snowstorm in all its glory. If I had the time, I'd love to put together a video of my own -- perhaps you boys with your shiny iMacs might have the motivation? |

So get this. Bush finally realized there's a recession around the corner, and has announced a $150 billion tax incentive plan to help give the economy a
'boost'.
"Letting Americans keep more of their money should increase consumer spending," he said. Apparently these idiots didn't learn from the last time they did this.... remember that everybody-gets-$300 thing back in 2001? What did the majority do with that money? Did they rush out and buy tons of new shit? No. They paid off debt. Now, with the sub-prime fiasco and consumer confidence low, what makes him think that people aren't going to pay of debt now? That doesn't 'stimulate' the economy. Debt is stuff that's already bought, you just owe for it. Paying off credit cards doesn't stimulate anything. What it does do is create the illusion that the government is 'giving back'. I don't think it'll do anything to solve our current economy problems. ALSO: Bush keeps saying that this can all be solved by making his tax cuts permanent. Ugh, they don't expire for a few years buddy, and they've been in place since 2001. Tell me, in the 7 years that those tax cuts HAVE been active, what's happened with the economy? Self-regulate THIS, punk. |

Wow. A whole week, and it's still just the four of us. Interesting.
Anyways, to start this Monday off right (by myself, since Frants is in ASPEN), I've discovered my new favorite children's show. Someday I'll be playing this one for my own kid, I'm sure.

Sorry I was slow to arrive at the party but now that I'm here I must say I like what I see. Now I've gotta learn all the new tricks of posting.
Apparently video is all the rage. Love that Giants clip. Completely forgot about that. Nice find KD. Oh, and I take back all of that stuff I said to you about
wanting the Bills to beat the Jints in Week 15 so we would miss the playoffs and they could finally fire Coughlin. Completely forget that I said any of that.
Go BIG BLUE!!!

Glad to see we've increased our numbers here by 50%. Now, can we keep it up......?
Oh, and ten bucks says that Ledger shows up four months from now with green hair and some clown make-up on his face. Viral Marketing at it's finest! |
